Discovery of resistance to <i>Pratylenchus neglectus</i> among <i>P. thornei</i> ‐resistant Iranian landrace wheats and the introgression of both resistances into advanced breeding lines

Root-lesion nematodes (RLNs) Pratylenchus thornei and P. neglectus are globally important pathogens of cereal pulse crops. These RLNs can occur together in farming systems must be managed concurrently to minimize substantial yield losses intolerant crop cultivars. Australian wheat cultivars with resistance neglectus, have either the Rlnn1 gene, which provides a high level but is linked yellow flour colour that reduces cultivar marketability for bread production, or QRlnn.lrc-2B, moderate resistance. We evaluated collection 91 thornei-resistant Iranian landrace wheats (ILWs) their four glasshouse experiments (a) identify genotypes both RLNs, (b) determine if any carried and/or QRlnn.lrc-2B (c) develop ILW-derived advanced breeding lines (ABLs) RLNs. A factor analytic linear mixed model (FA-1) explained 70% genetic variation, where correlations between ranged from 0.54 0.77, was used combined analysis all experiments.
